There’s a war being waged on women’s worth — and it’s been happening in front of our mirrors, on our scales, and in the dressing room for far too long. But the truth? You were never created to live in shame or comparison. You were designed to live in freedom. As a Houston-area boudoir photographer who specializes in empowering women of all shapes and sizes, I’ve seen firsthand how these lies take root. But I've also seen what happens when they get broken. Let's set the record straight together.
Lie #1: “I need to lose weight before I do a boudoir session.”
The Truth: You are worthy of being celebrated right now — not "someday."
Bodies change. Seasons shift. But your worth? That doesn’t. Your beauty isn’t conditional — it’s God-given. In fact, boudoir photography for plus-size women is one of the most healing experiences I get to witness. And no, you don’t need to change a thing to be worthy of stunning, soul-honoring photos.
"You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you." – Song of Solomon 4:7
Lie #2: “My body is too far gone.”
The Truth: There is no such thing as "too far gone" in the Kingdom of God.
Whether you have scars, stretch marks, or softness you’ve learned to hide, your body is not broken. She’s been carrying your story. She’s still here. And that alone is something to honor. From postpartum boudoir sessions to those done after a major life or health shift, I create space for women to reconnect with their bodies through a compassionate lens.
"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." – Romans 8:1
Lie #3: “God wouldn’t want me to do something like this.”
The Truth: God is not scandalized by your beauty or your body. He created it.
When I say "faith-based boudoir photographer," people sometimes raise an eyebrow. But the truth is, I believe this work is sacred. Done with the right heart, boudoir becomes a moment of healing — of reclaiming the body that shame, trauma, or church culture may have distorted. God doesn’t shy away from beauty. He celebrates it.
"So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." – Genesis 1:27
Lie #4: “I’m too old for this.”
The Truth: There is no expiration date on confidence.
Whether you’re 25 or 65, you deserve to feel radiant. I regularly work with women in their 40s, 50s, and beyond who finally decide to do something for themselves. Some say it's the first time they’ve ever felt truly seen. If you’re looking for age-inclusive boudoir photography in Texas, I promise — you’re not too late. You're right on time.
"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come." – Proverbs 31:25
Lie #5: “I don’t think I’d feel confident enough to do this.”
The Truth: Confidence isn’t a prerequisite — it’s a result.
Most of my clients arrive nervous. But friend, it’s not about showing up already confident. It’s about giving yourself permission to take up space. To try. To breathe deeper. And when you see your photos? Confidence comes flooding in like a wave. This is where the real work begins.
"Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." – Hebrews 12:1
Sister, the truth is:
You are not too much. You are not too late. You are not too far gone.
You are enough, exactly as you are.
If even one of these lies has taken up space in your mind, I want you to know: you’re not alone.
And you don’t have to stay stuck there. My charming little Houston boudoir studio is a space of healing, fun, freedom, and fierce confidence-building — and I’d be honored to help you begin that journey.
